30 days of Modi Sarkar

It was one of the historical wins to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the recent elections. After three decades,  people of the country have given a clear mandate to a party to form government in the national capital. Narendra Modi who was leading the BJP in elections, became the 15th Prime Minister of the nation on May 26th .

These are tough situations for the Modi government when stepped in the shoes. The first and foremost thing, Narendra Modi aimed to have a strong administration that can take bold decisions that will benefit the nation on long run. In this process, Modi hired his CMO team from Gujarat and selected his choice of officials. Then Modi made headlines by ordering his fellow ministers not to appoint personal staff with relatives and his instructions to his ministers not to have private secretaries who had served ministers of the UPA regime. Modi was very firm on this decision and he held few appointments by Rajnath Singh and other ministers.  Modi shelved the Empowered Groups of Ministers (EGoMs) and GoMs to remove bottleneks in the decision-making process.  The PM also reached out to Secretaries to the government of India seeking their views and feedback and asking them to reach him on his personal email whenever needed. Then Modi directed his ministers to prepare 100 days agenda of work and proceed accordingly.

Tough Decisions

Just when the new government is looking good and people friendly, it broke the barrier and hiked the Railway fares that too massively by 14.2 percent. But BJP led NDA government managed to throw the blame on UPA government and said that UPA postponed the decision with view of elections. Though there were minor setbacks from public and opposition, NDA government went ahead with the Railway hikes.

Next is LPG and kerosene subsidies, NDA government is expected to hike the prices of gases everything minimally but in a high profile meeting yesterday, Modi government deferred the decision by three months. At present the major concern is inflation. So far 38 percent below rainfall was registered in the country and drought situation might hit in about 500 districts across the country. Already the inflation is increasing every month and Modi who promised to bring down the inflation is working accordingly.

These are the major highlights of Modi government in their 30 days progress report. But all eyes are the budget that will be unveiled on July 7th. It is the most anticipated thing of this first Modi government. All in all it is talk less, work more from the Modi Sarkar!
