The Telugu Desam Party is gearing up in Seemandhra because of the peculiar situation in AP.  

The congress party having an on the state of Andhra Pradesh being the largest state in the South has been dodging the Telangana statehood demand for long but suddenly showed keen interest in it and hit success in the endeavor to get the bill for the bifurcation of the state passed in the Parliament.  The reason for the rush was BJP with its state leader Kishan Reddy actively going in the Telangana region and making good will for the party by announcing that the BJP party supports Telangana and also promises to give it to Telangana people within 100 days of it coming to power.  In order to win over Telangana and BJP Congress went on war foot basis to get the Telangana bill passed in spite of the opposition from its own party leaders and also Ministers.  The Party has gone ahead with the bill although the party’s own Chief Minister was opposing right from the beginning and also rejected the bill when it came to the Assembly.  In the process the congress party lost Seemandhra region.

BJP which was in favor of making Telangana a separate state also has lost Seemandhra because of their stand.  BJP later wanted to repair it by announcing that it is in favor of the interests of Seemandhra and unless specific steps are taken to do justice it will not support the bill in the parliament.  But Congress party wanted throw the blame on BJP for not able to pass the bill which made the BJP to change its stand and support the bill in the parliament.  By this act BJP also lost ground in Seemandhra although the senior leaders like Venkaiah Naidu have taken up the task of repairing the damaged goodwill in the Seemandhra region.  

This made the way clear to Telugu Desam Party.  Migration of Congress leaders to TDP has also strengthened the party.  Only opposition it may have is YSR Congress party which started their campaign today.  But as the influence YSRCP previously got in Anantapur, Puttaparthi and other areas weakened, the chances of winning of TDP is promisingly indicative.  

The political party Kiran Kumar Reddy expected to float has not materialized so far.  

Taking all the above, Telugu Desam Party at present has fair chances of coming back to the rule in the state.  

Incidentally both national parties have lost their grip on Telangana too as TRS is getting stronger with Telangana state has become realty.  The denial of TRS either to merge or to support Congress party made both ruling Congress and opposition BJP get weekened. The recent Praja Garjana program held at Vizianagarm was successful with crowds gathered to attend it.
