Yes, this is absolutely true... Clearing the air whether the debate started or not, the government and Assembly sources have said that the discussion on Telangana bill has started. When Assembly resumed for the third time on Wednesday, Vatti Vasantha Kumar got up on his chair and addressed the house. Vatti said “respecting Andhra and Rayalaseema people's sentiment, we (Seemandhra) are rejecting the bill. Economically many problems will arise with bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and the bill has many loopholes.”
While Vatti was talking, TDP and YSR Congress leaders raised slogans and tried to obstruct his speech. Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and Speaker Manohar intervened, requested all agitating leaders to get back to their seats. TDP MLAs respected the words of Speaker and returned, while YSR Congress leaders tore the bill and created ruckus. Speaker Manohar tried very bit pacify and control YSR Congress leaders but situation was getting worse.
With no other option Speaker Manohar indefinitely adjourned the Assembly to meet tomorrow morning. Later at media point, TRS floor leader, Etela Rajendra demanded minister Vatti resignation and said, “being in government and responsible minister, Vatti cannot oppose the bill. TRS party demands his resignation.”
“I initiated the debate, Vatti Vasantha Kumar resumed it,” added Sridhar Babu when asked whether debate on Telangana bill started or not.
On the other hand, Council too witnessed the same situation. But former PCC chief D. Srinivas is hopeful that debate would begin tomorrow and members can express their views on bill.
