Big dog's loving gift to Down's Syndrome boy

A boy born with Down's Syndrome in La Plata, Buenos Aires hates being touched. Down's syndrome is a condition that results in many developmental difficulties. In an extremely heart touching moment, a large Labrador dog managed to make this little boy forget his hate for physical contact.

Labrador dogs are well known for their gentle friendly nature. Any dog lover would agree that service dogs are one of the most important helpers to disabled persons. When a kid has metal developmental issues, again, a dog is usually the solution to calm their confused emotions. Only recently, we have heard about how an Indian boy with a mental disability was allowed to take his service dog on board a plane for special reasons.

Such examples are many. Here, this heartwarming video shows the gentleness a dog can bring to an innocent kid's chaotic emotions. Herman, a 5 year old boy with Down's Syndrome, shirks away from human contact of any kind. When he met Himalaya, a gentle giant of a dog, he shied away from him too. But, Himalaya patiently coaxed the boy into touching him, all with utmost tenderness.

First, the boy is seen sitting outside opposite the dog, thought to be his Uncle's pet. He stays away from the large dog and soon Himalaya takes the initiative to convince him get playful. After a few minutes of patient observation and gently laying his paw on Herman's leg, the dog manages to break the ice. Soon, Herman is confident enough to check out Himalaya's teeth.

This adorable video was uploaded by Herman's mother Ana. The boy has two older sisters and was three when this incident happened. 'Ana said, “Herman, is a bit withdrawn and flees from physical contact. He does not like be touched, but Himalaya insisted so patiently, and she was so soft that's why it is so moving, she is left to do anything.”
