Khajjiar, often called as India's Switzerland, is a hill station in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, which is very popular with tourists in India and abroad.

Going from Dalhousie to Khajjiar is a soothing experience as you drive through the beautiful Bakrota Hills. As you keep on going, after few minutes, you enter into the 'Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary' and also the beautiful 'Lakkar Mandi'.

Anytime of the year depending on your preference. Summer is everyone's favourite and the most busiest time of the year. Accommodation can also get a bit expensive. In winter, we could see some part of the area covered in snow. It looks wonderful in snow as well. Something to be aware of if there is a forecast of heavy snowfall, the roads access to Khajjiar will be closed.

Khajjiar offers hotels, cottages, rest houses run by HP tourism, but there are some private hotels too.

Travel:

By Road: Travelling by road to Khajjiar is not a problem since Khajjiar is connected to different places of Himachal by roads. People majorly choose buses for road transportation which is easily available from other states of Himachal.

By Rail: Rail transportation is another option for tourists. The nearest railway station from Khajjiar is the railway station of Pathankot. The Khajjiar railway station also provides trains to all major cities.

By Air: Nearest airport to Khajjiar is at Shimla and Chandigarh. Regular flight facilities are available at both the airports.
