Late-night food that helps in weight loss:- All the people who are on diet tend to have light food during the nights and they prefer to stay away from rice and heavy food. It is always important to have a healthy food for late-night snacking. It is just to cheat your stomach and give its food by achieving the eating target along with getting all the required nutrition rather than more calories. If the food is healthy, late-night food is not an issue if the food is hygienic and healthy. But making it a regular habit is not good for health and would spoil your health cycles. Here are some good food choices that make a good late night food for weight loss:

Bananas: They are good for your body and also your mind. They will increase the production of melatonin that will help you to sleep better. It also has good sources of vitamins, minerals and fibre. Almond butter can be added along with banana pieces. Also chopped bananas can be mixed in yoghurt. These are good for brain and the gut.

Eggs: Eggs can be taken at any time of the day and the night. The boiled eggs can be kept in the refrigerator and can be made into a salad in the nights when needed. If you are conscious of cholesterol, take the egg white which has 6 grams of protein along with Vitamin B2. Eggs are rich in selenium, Vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals. Eggs make a healthy mid-night diet.

Nuts: A bowl of mixed nuts can make a good snack in any odd time of the day. A mix of almonds, pistachios and walnuts would make a good snack for the night. Eating 1.5 ounces of nuts on a regular basis will keep the fat low and cholesterol will be reduced so that the risk of heart disease would be low. Pistachios have the highest melatonin content and helps a person to sleep well.

Kiwis: Kiwis are rich in Vitamin C and are a light snack for anyone. Peel the slices of kiwis and they give the feel of satiation. One can try kiwi sandwich which will make a decent meal in the night. Take 4 slices of organic rye bread along with mascarpone cheese (50 g) along with two ripe kiwis. Spread the mascarpone cheese over the bread and place the slices of kiwis. This makes a delicious mid-night snack.

Phool Makhana: Makhana is popularly known as fox nuts. Phool Makhana is a popular homemade snack in most of the Indian households. These seeds are used in sweets and in raita or made as makhana curry. You can take a small bowl of Phool Makhana as a midnight snack. You can dry roast them or roast them with ghee (one tablespoon) and sprinkle some masala powder on them. You can also add salt for a better taste.
