Drinking Tea Or Coffee During Pregnancy Reduces Baby Size:- A recent survey revealed that women who are habitual of drinking tea or coffee during pregnancy are more likely to have small babies. The survey suggested that women who drink less than 200mg caffeine (three cups of tea and two mugs of coffee) will have low birth weight or premature babies. University College Dublin researchers revealed that the caffeine restricts blood flow that affects the growth of babies.
Ling Wei Chen, a doctor who looked over 941 mothers and children in Ireland revealed the news after an intensive research. For every additional 100mg of caffeine consumed daily, the baby's weight reduces by 0.5lbs which is equal to 72grams. Even women who consumed less than the safe amount of 200mg of cafene will have affects. Another study found caffeine consumption during pregnancy appears to promote childhood obesity.
