High Fat Dairy Products may control the Type 2 Diabetes!

It is often believed that the fat contents in food trigger the risks of cardio vascular related health problems and diabetes, but a study conducted in Sweden said that the high-fat dairy products can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes. It reported that a creamy or buttery diet could help hold the disease at bay.

As per the study conducted by Ulrika Ericson and her colleagues, the consumption of high-fat dairy products can protect the persons from facing the problem of type 2 diabetes. The researchers studied  the eating habits of 27,000 individuals aged 45 to 74, and found those who ate most high-fat dairy products had a 23 per cent lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who ate the least. They also said that higher consumption of meat elevates the risk of type 2 diabetes regardless of the fat content of the meat.

According to the report of study is published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the participants had taken part in the Malmo Diet and Cancer study in the early 1990s, where they have provided their food eating habits, and after two decades they were re-studied and found that over ten per cent - 2 860 people - had developed type 2 diabetes.

“This is rather surprising. We did not find the same kind of link for low-fat dairy products. Our interpretation is that dairy fat can protect against diabetes,” wrote Ulrika Ericson, the professor at Lund University in a mail.

However, the readers are suggested to follow the opinion and prescription of dietician and trusted physician to be healthy. Since, most of the people get allergy due to dairy products, and the food habits and physical activities are completely different from one to other. The impact may vary with the persons.
