Six Members Of An NRI Family Booked In Dowry Harassment Case:- In a shocking incident, police sources revealed that six members of an NRI family were booked on Sunday, for allegedly harassing a woman for dowry.

The victim identified as Manbir Kaur complained to the police that her husband, Harsimran Singh and five of her in-laws have been harassing her for dowry. The couple got married in 2008 thereafter which she faced the harassment, said Manbir.

Hailing from Punjab, Guru Nanak Nagar area in the district, the accused are settled in Brisbane, Australia. According to police, Kaur made allegations against the family that as the price of her in-laws tickets to Australia, her family had given dowry and also paid Rs 10 lakh. Kaur, after three months of her marriage, also left for the country where she was repeatedly troubled by the accused who demanded more money as dowry.

Under relevant sections of the anti-dowry Act and for criminal breach of trust, a case has been booked against the accused, said the police.
