Not just people in India but even NRI s were saddened with the death of 23-year-old medical students. They wondered whether India turned such an unsafe place that it had hit the headlines across the globe. Many NRI s, who regularly read Andhra Wishesh, reported us the way international media was opening public forums and asking people in the country to report crime against women in the country.
When Andhra Wishesh asked whether such crimes could be controlled by putting a check to liquor, several persons said that consumption of alcohol is everywhere even outside India but why is it that such heinous crimes are taking place in the country, they questioned. They said something might have been seriously wrong about the system.
The NRI s said each and every parent, who give birth to a boy, should instill moral sense and science to his/her son. Teachers too, at schools, should tell how women should be respected and remind everyone that same gender gave us birth. Also, they said a special subject should be included in the syllabus on importance of woman in society and that subject should even throw light on offences against women.
Anyway, the medico who passed away will not come back. She took a part of our lives along with her. And she will remain in our hearts forever, as a brave sister of the country. May her soul rest in peace.
