Story
Chandu [Aadi] is an orphan, college going student. He falls in love with Nandu [Rakul Preet]. Later on he comes to know that she is the sister of filthy rich businessman of the city by name Siddharth [Srihari]. Instead of hiding, Chandu directly approaches Siddharth and says that he want to marry Nandu. Siddharth challenges Chandu to make Nandu fall in love with him and the rest of the story is how Chandu succeeds.
Analysis :
This is a predictable story but the director attempted to show the screenplay differently. However he fails badly and we can notice, the director losing the grip on the plot. The first half of the film has nothing to offer new except the comedy part and second half is completely routine and make it even worse. Songs are also not that impressive and just come as passing clouds.
The love track between Aadi and Rakul lacks the soul and it lets down.
Performance :
Aadi is climbing the ladder with every film. With Rough he proved he can do any sort of role but the film doesn't match to his performance. His dances are good, dialog delivery has improved and carried his emotions well. Aadi's body language is good and engaging. Rakul Preet is good and eye candy. But she has no scope in this film as Aadi is focused more.
Srihari is usual. As doting brother, Srihari excelled. Rest of the cast were okay.
Final Word: Rough is a routine flick. Can be missed.
