Actor Pran, 93, will receive this year's Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Like his name, legendary actor Pran is the life of Indian cinema. Pran elevated the role of villain to a status equal to that of the hero. In a career that spanned over 6 decades, Pran acted in almost every major Bollywood film that came out in the 1960s and 70s. He started his journey from a punjabi film called 'Yamla Jat' and went on to become one of the most sought after name in Bollywood. All major Bollywood names expressed their happiness over the news , though some feel he should have got the award long ago.
