Story: The movie starts with a robbery of Rs 200 Cr worth of jewellery. Police suspect ‘Japan’ as the robbery took place in his style. Officer Bhavani (Vijay Menon) and Office Sridhar (Sunil) will be in action to catch the thief. In the process, they arrest Radha, a suspect, who is a day labourer. The movie is about Japan's relationship with Radha and the link with his style of robbery.

Japan Analysis

Japan Movie Review, Rating, Story, Cast & Crew

Like his other previous films, director Raju Murugan goes for a non-commercial film. His previous film Gypsy was a failure and with Japan, he again delivered a debacle. Japan has many clichés in the script. Japan is a complete mass film and is restricted to only certain group of audience. Japan is an HIV-positive patient and the director failed to create an emotion by this. Scenes like friend back-stab and gold distribution in streets also failed to create impact. The movie is completely not a heist film nor a story related to Japan. The film has many scenes that are not related to Japan.

A few comedy scenes worked well. The second half depends on Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyathavaasi poster, which even failed to create some interest. Gangadhar's role was boring.  In pre climax bomb action episode is packed with over action scenes.

Japan is Karthi’s one-man show. His getup, style, body language and dialogue are complete assets for the film. His acting as Gold Man is hilarious and Karthi also impressed the audience in action scenes. A few songs composed by GV Prakash are catchy and he even impressed with the background score. Technical aspects need to be addressed as the cameraman is one of the main asset for the film. Anu Emmanuel is okay. Director by taking many aspects, failed to create an impact.
