Waltair Veerayya Story
Waltair Veerayya (Chiranjeevi) leads Jalaripet in Vizag region and he represents the families of fishermen in the region. He is into small smuggling deals. He gets a deal to nab Solomon Caeser (Bobby Simha) who resides in Malaysia. Solomon is accused in a murder case of multiple cops. In a surprising move, Waltair Veerayya turns a close pal to Solomon but he has to break the trust to save RAW officer (Sruthi Haasan). Soon, Waltair Veerayya kills Solomon after which the real twist about the bonding and conflict between Waltair Veerayya and Micheal unfolds. The rest of the film is all about extraditing Micheal to India and about the bonding between Waltair Veerayya and his brother ACP Vikram Sagar (Ravi Teja). Waltair Veerayya Analysis
Waltair Veerayya is an out-and-out mass entertainer that is mixed with all the needed ingredients. Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja shine in their roles and they performed their best in their assignments. Chiranjeevi is hilarious as Waltair Veerayya and Ravi Teja is powerful as ACP Vikram Sagar. The film opens on a strong note and is predictable mostly. Chiranjeevi's performance, comic timing and the dance moves are the highlights of the first half. The interval episode takes the film to the next level and is the major highlight of the film. The romantic episodes with Shruti Haasan should have been better. The action episodes are well-shot and presented.
The second half also happens on a serious note and Chiranjeevi takes care of entertaining the audience. Ravi Teja plays a sincere cop and his episodes are well-elevated. The bonding between the brothers is well-established and the entire flashback episode is well-shot. The climax looks loud but Waltair Veerayya is well-packed with all the commercial elements. The songs are the major USP for the film. Waltair Veerayya also has a strong and hard-hitting emotional drama. Catherine, Nassar, Prakash Raj and others did their parts well. On the whole, Waltair Veerayya is a decent mass entertainer.
Megastar Chiranjeevi is back with his vintage looks and charm. He excels throughout with his comic timing which is one among the major highlights of the film. Ravi Teja is the other highlight of Waltair Veerayya and he leads the show with his powerful performance. Prakash Raj and Bobby Simha played the roles of the antagonists and they did their parts well. The action episodes are well-shot. Shruti Haasan has a small role that will not appeal to anyone. She plays a RAW Agent in Waltair Veerayya. Nassar, Catherine, Srinivas Reddy, Praveen and others performed well in their roles.
Waltair Veerayya has an interesting plot and is about two brothers who get separated because of fate. The screenplay and dialogues are the major highlights of the film. The narration and the action stunts are outstanding. The editing work is good and the background score by DSP is good. The music and the songs should have been better and they fell short of expectations. The cinematography work exceeds the limitations. The production values are grand enough. Waltair Veerayya is made on a lavish budget. Bobby Kolli handles the film with care and it is a finely packed commercial entertainer.
Waltair Veerayya Final Word
Waltair Veerayya brings back the vintage Megastar in the most entertaining role. Ravi Teja is powerful and Waltair Veerayya is a decent commercial entertainer to be watched during the holiday season.
