Katti Batti Analysis

Katti Batti Movie Review and Ratings

Katti Batti movie is inspired from several Hollywood movies like ‘500 Days of Sumer’, ‘Chasing Amy’ etc. In that sense, it is not only from other movies, Director Nikhil Advani even got inspired from his own movie “Kal ho na ho”. Most of the scenes are predictable and one who follows Nicholas Sparks and certain Keanu Reeves-Charlize Theron flick, you can even understand the major scenes, which is said to be twist in Katti Batti movie.

The regular south Indian or Punjabi families home fights are a major minus to the movie. Finally, not just one movie, if you buy one Katti Batti movie ticket, you get the opportunity of watching many Hollywood, Bollywood and fortunately even the South Indian movies and adding to this, even the famous writers novels on a single screen and that too, in a span of 2.5 hours.

Performance

Imran Khan no doubt gave a decent performance. In fact, it is his performance, that elevated few key scenes of the movie. In the beginning, it was thought that, Imran might be dominated by Kangana Ranaut’s performance, but Imran got a lot to do with Katti Batti movie. In fact, Kangana’s talent is wasted for Katti Batti movie. The poor narration skills of the director, make her performance sound low.

Coming to the music, except Sarfira song, rest others sound so routine or to say noisy. Editing is fine, as the length is monitored well. Cinematography is top notch, the production values are rich. Almost the complete technical department has no great flaws, except the director.

Katti Batti Final Word

Katti Batti movie plot is ok, but the screenplay spoils the plot. So, unless and until, you are Imran or Kangana fan, you cannot enjoy the movie.
