Mukunda marks the debut of Varun Tej [son of Naga Babu] in Tollywood. Sensible director Sreekanth Addala directed the film and Pooja Hegde is the heroine. The trailer and songs got good response, let's see how the movie would be.

Story

Mukunda [Varun Tej] completes his studies and will be preparing for Civil service examinations. Right from childhood, Mukunda is interested in doing social activities and helping others in whatever way he could. Though, Mukunda is not politically inclined, he will develop a cold war with Municipal chairman of his village [Rao Ramesh]. The rest of the story is how Mukunda overcomes the wily politician.

Analysis :

 Mukunda-review

In general, director Sreekanth Addala films are very slow. Mukunda too carries the same pace till the end of the film. This might test the patience of the audience. The first half of the film offers nothing new but Sreekanth Addala shows his class again. Varun Tej introduction is shot well and songs are beautifully filmed. Overall the first half is just ok.

We might think the film will pick up in the second half but it is a complete let down. Adding worse, the plot gets predictable and reaches the climax. The ending is improper and not that convincing. Overall second half shocks the audience. Music and Cinematography are outstanding.

We expect a commercial entertainer from a Mega family hero but they are absent in Mukunda.

Performance :

 Mukunda-review

All eyes are definitely on Varun Tej. We can say made his mark but he might end up getting comments like Ram Charan i.e, lack of expressions. Varun's voice is good and carries himself great on the screen. Like no other hero in Mega family, Varun Tej has charming screen presence. He performed well but he needs to work on dance.

Pooja Hegde is good and looked orthodox. Her role is very limited yet has worth. The biggest asset for the film is Rao Ramesh. He is seen in a negative role and will surprise the audience with performance. We have seen many witty villains in the past, Rao Ramesh will show his new angle and steals the attention.

Final Word: Mukunda is an offbeat film from a Mega Family hero. The success depends upon how audience receive it.
