Story :

Prominently striking the point this one (co-produced by Anurag Kashyap) is for lovers of pure parallel cinema. 'Shor' (Neeraj) and 'Mehfuz' (Rohit) stand out in this totality. In the first story, Lallan (Vineet) and Meena (Ratnabali), are a couple living in self- indulgently in utterly hopeless poverty in Mumbai. On one side she tailors clothes for survival while her husband who is joblessness results being an ignoble, mistrustful husband. Pertaining to only when the death-knells toll, they rediscover their long-lost feelings. The film is intensely sensible at the same time sensitive with feeling having fantabulous performances. 'Mehfuz' moves on around the passage of death. The lead character Nawazuddin is an unattended soul dealing only with corpses while his clients noticeably send him bodies to burn and bury. Until one night a woman walks in to his life, bringing a sudden shade of expectancy in his dark existence. Nawazuddin seems brilliant in this sheer intensely surprising role making it a worth enough to be watched.'Sujata' (Shlok), tells a story of a young girl (Huma) who has been harassed both sexually and mentally by her bad beyond correction cousin brother Aditya since childhood. Every time she escapes his snatches he hunts her back. Conclusively, subsequent to years of experienced rage as well strong dislike, she takes a decision to obey bloody punishment. Huma does a splendid job at expressing the distress and torture of her character.

Now, coming to this Bengali dark comedy, 'Audacity' (Anirban), the 13-year- old Lily (Preeti) is rebellious, influenced at the highest degree with pop-culture, much to regard with displeasure of her dictatorial dad (Sankar). Her audacity to question his vices (drinking, gambling) furthers to a minor social scandal and a family confrontation. Even though the Bong setting appeared just perfect, yet the story fell sharp down unable to create any striking effect.

Conclusively, 'Epilogue' (Siddharth), is a dialogue-less film accompanying two characters, One real (Arjun), the other ghost-like, seemingly not true (Richa). It's a relationship between a couple evincing a feeling of alienation where love and closely twisted intimacy turn into a cycle of possessive control and derangement of the mind, ultimately concluding in self-destruction. The story which is lacking definiteness is much ahead to be left for interpretation which could otherwise be defined as something too pretentious!

Analysis :

After going through all the stories in this feature film the conclusive impact remain prevalent that every performer justified their best caliber. Yet, as a special mention one just cant ignore naming 'Nawazuddin' one of my favourite actors, done a fantabulous performance in the character dealing only with corpses. On the other hand, the 13-year- old Lily (Preeti) who was rebellious, influenced at the highest degree with pop-culture, much to regard with displeasure of her dictatorial dad (Sankar) accompanied by her audacity to question his vices drinking, gambling furthers to a minor social scandal and a family confrontation. Yet could not succeed in creating any justified outcome.

Final Word:There should not be any doubt that the film is based on daily lives of middle class people. The performances take the film to a different level wherein every character plays to the best of their caliber as well as give a feeling that they are one among us, a character from life. One must genuinely be a lover of parallel cinema not expecting any dhamakedar songs and dance rather look into the aesthetics of cinema as well communicate emotions from our life.

So anyone who would like to experience life through cinema should definitely seat tight to their seats and enjoy the film, rest all can decide themselves!
