Overwhelmed with the success of `Chikni Chameli’, even before the official release the composer bro’s Atul Gogavale and Ajay felt elated. They said they were elated but not surprised, because having taken over the Marathi film industry by storm with Kombi Palali, the original track that Chikni Chameli is inspired from, is sure success to stardom.  “We were sure that the song would do well because it had proven itself in the Marathi sphere. To top it, when we were told that Katrina would feature in it, we knew it would be a success,” says Atul. The song featuring in Karan Johar’s Agneepath is already a rage among the youth. The curvature exposure to the rhythm by Kats, was fabulous say the onlookers. The actor gets raw and rustic in the hot item song. And Shreya Ghoshal just took it to another level with her voice.

But let’s see what the B-Wood’s item queen Rakhi Sawant has to say about the song, "'Chikni Chameli' is an amazing song. Katrina has really danced well in the said item number however it's nothing new. I have done all this already. If you watch all my songs I have already done that." She further added a damaging statement stealing the publicity that Katrina garnered in the song, "Katrina copied my step in 'Sheila Ki Jawani' which I had done in the song 'Dekhta hai tu kya'. And now again in 'Chikni Chameli' she is following me. It seems Katrina really likes me."
