Mahesh Babu's AMB Cinemas Violates GST Norms:- Superstar Mahesh Babu joined hands with Asian Cinemas and came up with AMB Cinemas which is named as one of the best multiplexes in the city currently. The theatre experience has been lauded widely by several celebrities and soon AMB Cinemas turned out to be the first choice for several movie lovers. The latest news making rounds is that AMB Cinemas violated the GST rules and received notices from the Ranga Reddy district GST Commissionerate anti-profiteering wing for not reducing the ticket prices despite of GST Commission reducing the prices. The Union Ministry slashed down the GST charges from 28% to 18% and the ticket prices came down from January 1st this year.

AMB Cinemas did not reduce the prices and they are said to have earned Rs 35 lakhs through the violations. AMB Cinemas said that they haven't received any notices. Several multiplexes in the city did not reduce the prices despite of the Central Government's order. An official from GST Commissionarate informed that the pocketed Rs 35 lakhs has to be paid back to the consumer welfare fund. AMB Cinemas acquired a new order to fix the ticket price as Rs 200 (Rs 170 and Rs 30 as GST) and the new rule comes into existence from February 22nd.
