A Disastrous Friday For Tollywood:- The number of Telugu cinemas releasing have been coming up every year. With number of films releasing, small films have been struggling for theatres. After Baahubali: The Conclusion ended up as a massive hit, all the eyes of Indian cinema have been focussed on Tollywood. Yesterday, Krishna Vamsi’s Nakshatram and Sukumar’ Darsakudu released all over AP and Telangana. Krishna Vamsi who has been struggling for success pinned all his hopes on Nakshatram. Sai Dharamtej, Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra and Pragya Jaiswal played the lead roles in the movie.
Nakshatram received poor response from the audience and the film has been badly rejected all over. The film lacked strong openings and it opened to less than 50% occupancy in most of the territories. Krishna Vamsi has been widely criticised for his poor work in the film. The movie has been made on a massive budget and it will leave the makers and buyers in hefty losses. On the other side, Sukumar’s next production Darsakudu released yesterday and the film too suffered decent openings. Directed by Hari Prasad, the film featured Ashok Bandreddi and Eesha in the lead roles.
The film too lacked interesting plot and it received poor response from the audience. Darsakudu too will end up as one of the biggest debacles. The film will have a huge impact on Sukumar’s brand name. However Sekhar Kammula’s Fidaa has been doing decent business in its third week. The film already raked Rs 33.80 crores in two weeks and is still counting. With the Friday films receiving poor response, Fidaa has been the first choice for the audience even this week. Dil Raju bankrolled Fidaa on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and the movie is marching towards 2 million USD mark in USA. The makers have arranged a grand success meet and they have been touring across AP and Telangana thanking the audience.
