Baahubali Fame Singer LV Revanth Wins The Singing Reality Show, Indian Idol 9

One of the most loved contestants on the show, Hyderabad-based LV Revanth, has survived all challenges, and was declared winner of the famous singing reality show, Indian Idol 9.
It is indeed a proud moment for the Telugu people, as the trophies have been bagged by the Telugu singers.
The finale, which happened yesterday night, was full of melody songs, wherein two other contestants, Hyderabad based PVNS Rohit and Punjab’s Khuda Baksh, gave each other a tough competition.
Khuda Baksh, was declared the first runner up, while Rohit PVNS, stood as the second runner up.
The three judges of the Indian Idol 9 Grand Finale show were, Music composer - Anu Malik, Renowned singer - Sonu Nigam and Ace choreographer-filmmaker - Farah Khan.
Revanth, who hails from Vishakapatnam, lent his voice, for around 200 songs in southern films, including Rajamoul’s Bahubali: The Beginning. He became famous for his soulful voice right from the beginning, when he has given auditions for the show.
His song “Manohari”, from Bahubali also made him win the IIFA Utsavam award.
The Hyderabadi boy, thrived through the semi final, when he was put to test against another contestant in the show, Malavika Sunder, and emerged victorious. He sung “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage” from “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” for the semi finals, and his melodious voice, helped him win praises from the judges, saving him from being eliminated.
Despite not knowing Hindi, he sang Bollywood songs effortlessly throughout the season and clinched the contract with Universal Music, and won a Rs 25 lakh prize money, and a Mahindra KUV100.
Revanth said, “I am very happy and delighted winning the show. My life has just started because it was not easy to win this title, being a south Indian singer. This show has completely changed my life as this platform is too big of an opportunity to introduce myself.”
“I want to thank all the people who have supported me in my journey to win the first ever show of my life,” said Revanth.
The biggest highlight of the show, was when legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The cricketer appeared for the world television premiere of his debut track “Cricket waali beat”, on which he has collaborated with Sonu Nigam.
Another interesting element in the show was when comedian Sunil Grover appeared in the avatars of Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi. He took viewers on a laughter ride, along with comedienne Sugandha Mishra.
With the Indian Idol title, Revanth will now enter into Bollywood league, to get busy with Mumbai assignments.
Born in Vizag, Revanth lost his father before his birth and was raised by his mother. He shared his story on the show and revealed how he pursued his dream by taking up a job at PCO booths and catering companies. All this helped him fund his education in music.
In 2010, a Telugu singer, Sreeram Chandra, was the winner of Indian Idol 5.
The finale episode, also featured Bollywood actors, Boman Irani, Arshad Warsi and Raveen Tandon who appeared to promote their upcoming show “Sabse Bada Kalakar”, which will start from April 8.
