Taking another ugly turn in Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband Sanjay Kapoor’s divorce battle, the actress now reached up to filing the harassment case in Mumbai.
After Sanjay previously claimed that Karisma married him just for money, now the actress registered an FIR against him, along with his mother, Rani Sunder Kapoor at the Khar Police Station (Mumbai), alleging them of mental harassment.
As per Karishma’s statement, an FIR (no 98/16) has been filed under the dowry Section - 498 (A): husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty and Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Earlier, upon the mutual consent of the duo, the estranged couple had withdrawn their consent to split and the petition of divorce, on the grounds of mutual consent.
Reportedly, Sanjay has also filed an application at the Supreme Court, seeking a transfer of the case to New Delhi on the grounds of threat to his life from underworld don Ravi Pujara.
