Now a days, Big hero Birthdays have become so launch pads to kick off teasers of their family members in Tollywood. Now this is some innovative thinking to get maximum possible publicity.
Recently, three Big heroes of Tollywood have celebrated their Birthdays in style. Megastar Chiranjeevi, King Nagarjuna and Power star Pawan Kalyan.
On his birthday, The Mega star was supposed to reveal details about his 150th film with Puri which has been canceled due to some disagreements. However, the family made sure the fans were not disappointed and took to stage to publicize Ram Charan-Srinu Vaitla’s “Bruce Lee” and Sai Dharam Tej-Harish Shankar’s “Subramanyam for Sale”. The surprising one of all was the teaser of Varun Tej-Krish’s Kanche which was released on Aug 15th. Bunny’s film with Boyapati was the only one left out with the movie still in progress.
While Chiru’s Birthday became such a blockbuster publicity stage, King Nagarjuna’s Birthday was no less. Nagarjuna invested in maximum possible publicity to launch movie teaser of his younger son Akhil’s movie directed by none other than the power house of mass and action V.V.Vinayak titled “Akhil - The Power of Jua”. Going a step ahead, the teaser was released by none other than Bollywood’s Super star Salman Khan. Not stopping there, we also have another rocking teaser of his elder son Naga Chaitanya released directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and an A R Rahman musical “Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo” on the same day. The film has a feel of the 2010 blockbuster “Ye Maya Chesave” of the same combination looking at the DOP, however, this movie is a love-action combination as told by Gautham and Chay. The icing on the cake was a stylish teaser of the King’s movie “Soggade Chinni Nayana” with Nag getting back to his own style of mass movies during his 90’s, and looks like a perfect entertainer.
After Chiru & Nag’s Birthdays have become such huge successes for Tollywood movie launches, Power star’s Birthday was like a second round of publicity for the upcoming Mega Family movies. First to release was Kanche on Sept 1st followed by Charan’s “Bruce Lee” trailer on Babai’s Birthday, followed by Subramanyam for Sale. Keeping all these aside, was one man walking in style taking away all the attention. Sardaar Gabbar Singh’s teaser was released on the occasion of Pawan Kalyan’s Birthday and hit 5 lakh views on YouTube just on the first day.
Having said that.. We wonder why there was nothing from Nandamuri camp on the occasion of Harikrishna’s Birthday which is on the same day as Pawan Kalyan’s. Looks like nothing from “Nanna ki Prematho” to Nanna ki Prematho by Jr.NTR and we hear Kalyan Ram’s Sher also is nearing completion and nothing there too.
