Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has cancelled the shooting of his upcoming movie 'Aur Devdas' in Delhi as he expressed concern over the safety of female crew members. Mishra took it on Twitter and added that outskirts of Delhi is completely unsafe for women. “Today my shoot was cancelled because the line producer could not guarantee the safety of the unit. I say this without bias. I really love Delhi but shooting on its outskirts is really scary and I was worried about the women in the unit,” tweeted Mishra.

'Aur Devdas,' an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Devdas which stars Rahul Bhat, Aditi Rao Hydari and Richa Chadda in vital roles. Luckily it was the last day of scheduled shooting and the director had to say “pack up” and added that he would complete the rest of the shooting in Mumbai which he feels is much more safer. But majority of the shooting is done in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi outskirts.

Sudhir Mishra is best known for films like 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' and 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.'
