Veteran Tollywood actor Kota Srinivas Rao said he is surprised on getting Padma Shri award that was announced the Central government on Sunday and added that he is honoured to get the fourth highest civilian award. Kota, who was shooting for Allu Arjun and Trivikram's new film, was felicitated by the team and he then thanked all the producers, directors and actors who were part of his successful journey in Telugu film industry.
Kota made his debut in 1978 with 'Pranam Kareedu' however, Jandhyala's 'Aha Naa Pellanta' was a big turn around for his career. He starred in more than 500 films and also featured in Hindi and Tamil movies. Kota was more famous for his negative roles till 90s, especially in director Ram Gopal Varma films and now he is doing supportive roles.
Kota has won six Nandi awards to his credits.
