The unconventional director Mani Ratnam has not been in great touch these days. Many critics say that it is time for Mani Ratnam to bid adieus to cinemas. However, defying all those, the director has decided to remake one of his own old films and want to bounce back as hard as he can. Yes, we hear from the Kollywood circles that Mani Ratnam is planning to remake 'Mouna Ragam' [1986] film and already has begun the ground work.
Mani Ratnam was supposed to do a movie with Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna but it got shelved due to reasons best known to him. Now the director wants to waste no time and get into filming. As per the sources, Nitya Menon and Dulquar Salman of 'Bangalore Days' fame are the front runners for the lead roles.
This is a crucial film for Mani Ratnam and at the same time, it is huge risk as the director is remaking his own film. The film should definitely live up to the expectations or else, it would pour down more critics on Mani Ratnam.
Anyways we wish him best of luck!
