Stay Lifted on Ram Leela Movie, Judge Says Sorry

Now way is clear for the movie Ram Leela as the Additional District Judge of Delhi Court who stayed screening of Sanjay Leela Bansali's film Ram Leela accepts his mistake and recalls the order today.  The Judge said that the fact that Delhi High Court has already refused to ban the movie was not informed to the court by the plaintiff.

After the advocate appearing on behalf of the film producers Eros International Media Ltd placed the order of the High Court that has not only refused to ban the movie but also levied a penalty of Rs.50000/- on the applicant who is an NGO.

The Delhi Court imposed stay on Wednesday on screening of the film till further orders as a third party decree when 6 petitioners filed objections on the movie Ram Leela about vulgarity in the movie and its title’s relation to the Hindu’s belief and hurting their sentiments as Ram Leela means the enactment of the story of Ram but it is not so in the movie of Ram Leela enacted by Ranveer Singh Deepika as it is full of sex and violence contrary to the Ram’s image in Ramayana.

After knowing the fact about High Court’s order, the Additional Judge of Delhi Court A.S. Jayachandra recalled the order of yesterday passing a stay on the movie’s screening.  The release date of the movie Ram Leela is 15th November.
