Director Vishwas Patil expressed that he was waiting for an apt time to bring the film. “Even though the main character Kangana (Rajjo) plays a Mujrawali in the film, it isn't somber or depressing by any means,” he said.

Rajjo also has Prakash Raj playing a crucial role, supported by Mahesh Manjrekar and Jayaprada. Kangana is toeing the limits here as the film has kicked up gossip about her controversial role.
