Several thousands including the participants themselves had created an uproar with their cheers to Indian Miss World contestant Vanya Mishra, as she went on to win the highly desired titles of Miss World's Beauty with a Purpose. Not stopping there she also brought back home, the Multimedia Award- a first for India at the Miss World 2012 pageant which was held in Ordos, China.
Her stunning beauty jumped out at the judges coaxing them to give her the title of Beauty with a Purpose as she had made special dedications to charities and such noble causes helping those who were poor and needy.
Vanya had supported Muktangan School, Mumbai in the Paragon Charitable Trust. Muktangan had selected teachers, able and effective, from several different communities to teach in 7 schools which provide a non-conventional interactive and fun way of education.
The Multimedia award is presented to those models who could present their web section in the Miss World website in the best way. Contestants can earn fast track points depending on their organization in the site.
Vanya had made the most of her Facebook pages assigned to her, keeping in touch with her fans regularly and also updating pictures and videos regularly.
Miss Mexico was a strong competitor to Vanya but her skillful participation had taken her to new heights.
In the show Vanya sported a peach and black designer gown. She had won the Multimedia award which had allowed her to move higher in the chart with a score of 261 points in the Miss World competition this year. With her Beauty with a Purpose award she scaled up even further finishing at 271 points and securing a position in the top 15 ranks of the 116 participating countries.
When she was asked why she deserved to be the Miss World she said, "I believe that the next Miss World should be a woman with a kind heart and humility, who wherever she goes, makes people feel that she is their own. Somebody who carries simple values in this complex world, somebody who believes in herself. And this is what I believe I am."
