Dhoni ruled out of Asian Cup

Indian captain MS Dhoni was ruled out of Asia Cup with side strain injury and vice captain Virat Kohli will lead the team. Dinesh Karthik has been replaced by Dhoni to fill the wicket keeper slot. Dhoni suffered a grade-one strain to his left side during the second Test against New Zealand in Wellington but continued to play despite the injury. After coming to India, Dhoni went for medical tests and was directed proper medication to the injury.

Asia Cup will be Virat Kohli's first major tournament as captain. Earlier Kohli led the team during tri-series in West Indies and in the Zimbabwe tour. Touted to be the future captain, Kohli got the right opportunity to prove his leadership skills.
