The five-times singles champion Venus Williams announced on Tuesday that due to the fact of a back injury she has pulled out of this year's Wimbledon. Furthermore, the 33-year-old has not played since pulling out of the doubles at this year's French Open.

Williams wrote on her Facebook page that she will not be able to participate in Wimbledon. She is extremely disappointed as she have always loved The Championships. Williams conquered victory during her last Wimbledon title in 2008 while her sister Serena is the defending champion in this year's tournament which commences on Monday.

That's truly unfortunate!
