At Eden Gardens, Kolkata the home team wins the toss and elects to field in the second ODI that is has started a few minutes ago. Pakistan must be planning to win the match and lift the tourney shield while India would be planning a win to level the series. In the tri-match series the first was won by the guests at Chennai. The third one will be held in Mumbai on Sunday (January 06).

The visiting team walks out with a mission. The pitch on the other hand is slightly moist with a mild drizzle in the morning. Probably due to this Dhoni opted to field to take advantage of the wet out field.

Though the arch rivals have their own plans, strengths and weakness which will definitely affect the outcome, but the stats state that Pakistan had never been defeated by the home team at Eden gardens.
