India is known for mixing sports with politics and it has payed the price for doing so as after International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), now International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) has provisionally suspended the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) as well.

Commenting on the issue, AIBA top officials in a press meet at Lausanne, Switzerland said , "Further to the International Olympic Committee's suspension imposed on the Indian Olympic Association, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Executive Committee Bureau has decided today, 6 December 2012, to provisionally suspend the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF)."

The suspension clearly means that Indian aspirations in the arena of international sports are now completely shattered until the apex sports body takes a decision in India's favor.
