T20: Nazir successful, Yuvaraj yet to prove

As the T20 World Cup 2012 is off to a big start in Sri Lanka, many turn heroes while many more decimate to zeroes. After the warm up matches the actual event commenced on September18 and will stretch to the mid of next match. Super eight level of the tournament is fast emerging and a brilliant performance by the Pakistani player Imran Nazir in the match against the Bangladesh team had booked a seat for the team in the next phase.

From Group A where India is put up, the other team that shall go into the Super Eight is England. And our first encounter is with our arch rivals Australia. The match is scheduled this Friday. The Super Eight phase is to start from tomorrow. The eight teams are divided into two groups. Group One is of losers England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies. These teams have lost a game and are behind the group toppers.

Group Two is of teams which have topped the earlier Group. They are India, Australia, Pakistan and South Africa. The first set of matches begin between Sri Lanka vs New Zealand and England vs West Indies. However the topping of the icing for us would be the encounter between Australia vs India on Friday at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

This encounter will test the endurance of the team and the whole group is filled with tough teams, no doubt at this stage it is only the tough nuts that remain. However Harbhajjan Singh who is the hero in England match will be looked up to. And along with him, the scanner is on Yuvraj Singh, to get back into the groove. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
