Badminton: Hyderabadis day out at Indonesia

Indian ace shuttle badminton player Saina Nehwal breezes into the semis beating her Chinese rival Shixian Wang, world number four. It would not be sheer flattery to say that the Indian acer is grooming up well for the forthcoming London Olympics. The three game match between the two time champ and the Chinese ended as 21-17 21-23 21-19. The gruesome dual for the women's singles at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno Stadium exibited the prowess for the Indian.

Saina dominated the tourney with her classic servea at the Indonesian Super Series in Jakarta and on Friday she was exceptionally well. Her next encounter would be with  world number 10 Korean, Ji Hyun Sung, who she had beaten thrice before, on Saturday.  While Saina hails from Hyderabad, there was another Hyderabadi who played extremely well to reach the semis in the mens singles of the same championships.

The 25-years old Parupalli Kashyap made his entry into the semis with a spectacular win against Denmark rival Kristian Vittinghus in a 21-15, 21-14 ordeal. The Indian  gave no room for his rival and crushed him to enter the semis. He weill enxt meet seventh seed Simon Santoso the local lad to reach the finals.  It may be remembered this young Indian hurricane qualified for the London Olympics during the India Open Super Series in New Delhi.

Andhra Wishesh wishes both the Hyderabadais all the best to play the best in the forthcoming matches. Because only the best will win!! (With inputs from internet-AarKay)
