Sachin is cricket…Cricket is Sachin…he is the living legend of cricket, unperturbed by controversies, or equally numbered injuries..Always emerged top in the next innings!!
Well do you really feel that Sachin is turning forty from today, I really don’t feel so and even my colleagues around feel that the master Blaster is just 39 years younger. Nothing has changed in him since 1989, the voice, the innocent face and the enjoyment while at crease or his God fearing persona. The only change is his physique which has turned manly leaving his face undisturbed, an opinion expressed by his contemporaries. Now just imagine to what extent a fan could go in adoration!! A greeting card to his demi-God with currency notes denoting numbers of his birth day and his 39th birthday.
This gentle man is Ratilal Parmar, a unique Sachin Tendulkar fan has done this rare feat as mentioned in an online media source. He also reveals that he has kept track of his entire career this way. And plans to meet his dream legend and give him his antique gift, before he retires.
Indian Government had been so much overwhelmed by this promising legend that time and again the blaster was awarded recognitions like Arjuna Award (1994), Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna (1997), Padma Shri (1999) and Padma Vibhushan (2008). This rare Indian is also honored by Global associations on various occasions, Wisden Almanac adjudged him the Cricketer of the Year (1997) and the Time magazine names him as one of their 'Asian Heroes' (2006).
However questioning the Master Blaster of these awards, he would only say that though these awards encouraged him much, they also burdened him with responsibility. But he would feel elated most on two occasions when the Legendry Sir Don Bradman met him on the formers 90th birthday, and expressed that he found himself in Sachin.
The second remarkable moment was the lady luck of the World Cup evaded him for some time despite of solid performance and finally yielded in 2011, and India won the world cup. He is quoted as, 'Winning the World Cup is the proudest moment of my life. ... I couldn't control my tears of joy.'
From 1998 in his debut against, our arch rivals and friendly neighbors, Pakistan as an youngest player to the last one day match in the Asian cup 2012 against the Bangladesh where he scored the much anticipated hundredth hundred the master blaster was phenomenal and is an asset to Team India. Many critics do despise him to gain popularity and gain advantage of his image. However a diamond gets its shine only when polished with a rough cloth. That has what had happened to this cricket hurricane. With hundred centuries in all predominant forms of international cricket and 33, 844 runs in both ODI and tests the Batsman stands tall and at a point where one could only reach in dreams. Apart from this his local performances and more could add on another 50k runs nearly. The sparkling career of this shy blaster has nearly a lakh of runs behind and does he need you and me to commend or criticize his work!!!!(With inputs from internet- AarKay)
