Cricket realty show by UTV, soon to be live on TV

India is a country where cricket is considered as an anthem, the defeat and the victory leaves behind an everlasting impact for discussions amidst all walks of life. Television is another one issue that has an equal impact on the mass populous. With so much craze for the game in the air and TV becoming a part of the culture, cricket on TV has almost set the idiot boxes glued on all match days. But UTV Bindass plans to do, something different to nurture the young talent by organizing a realty show called `Cricket Champs.’ It will be entertaining and a talent search for young aspirants across the nation. The program shall offer mentoring to the aspiring kids to excel in their passionate sport.

UTV is all set to launch the show in association with New Delhi-based Indraprastha All India Sports Foundation. Cricketers like Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Keerti Aazad and Piyush Chawla among others will be mentors on the show. The hunt shall commence from 17 January 2012 in Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore, Patna and also in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

The selected youth shall be divided into eight teams, who will play with each other in a league format, like the IPL. The players shall be selected in the age group of 16-22 years. The winning team shall bag Rs.1 million, while the top 10 players will be given a chance to be coached by some renowned names in Indian cricket.
