Indian wrestlers celebrate with Medals haul at Canada

The Indian wrestling contingent won as many as six medals, including four golds, at the recently-concluded Hargobind Singh International Wrestling tournament in Vancouver, Canada. Most of the top wrestling nations including the world champions, participated in the Nov 4-5 tournament. The venture proved as an ideal preparatory camp for the 2012 London Olympics.

2.   Yogeshwar Dutt         60 Kg Gold
3.   Narsingh Yadav          84 Kg Gold
4.   Babita Kumari            48 Kg Gold
5.   Pradeep Kumar         66 Kg Silver
6.   Rahul Mann               66 Kg Bronze

The Guru Hargobind Wrestling Club tournament is held every year the first weekend of November. Competitors from around the world compete for the winning trophy. This tournament has been one of the best in Canada and a lot of teams come from Europe. The Hargobind Wrestling Club began in the late 1990's and has evolved into a powerhouse program that draws strength from exposing youth to wrestling at an early age. The Hargobind Wrestling Club provides youth ages 6+ the opportunity to learn and compete in the sport of wrestling. An outstanding coaching staff, extraordinary parental and volunteer support has produced the tradition of excellence that is HARGOBIND WRESTLING.
