Easy for Vettel conquers First Indian Grand prix, who is Sachin

RedBullSachinIt was Vettel, Vettel all the way, the double World Champion Sebastian Vettel won the Formula One at the Buddh International Circuit, Noida, Sunday of the first Indian Grand Prix. "We did it," Vettel screamed on the team radio as he took the victory lap after Sachin Tendulkar waved the chequered flag. Vettel, who sealed his 11th win of the season with victory in India, praised the organisers and track layout. All the drivers were thrilled with the track. McLaren-Mercedes' Jenson Button finished second followed by Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who had been invited for the Indian GP by formula one boss Bernie Ecclestone, showed his passion for motorsports by being the first of the high-profile guests to arrive at the Circuit, along with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara. He was received by none other than the promoters of the race, Jaypee Sports International managing director Mr Sameer Gaur. After meeting the Mr. Bernie he headed straight to the Mercedes team building where he exchanged pleasantries with Mercedes team before meeting his long-time friend Schumacher and introduced his wife and daughter to the German.

The most happening place in the country for the day witnessed a rare incident in the history of sports, when a Spanish scribe questioned his Indian counterpart “Whos is he? Why everyone is running after him? Is he a very rich man?” for which the Indian proudly replied He is Sachin Tendulkar, the God of Indian cricket. An iconic figure for the cricketing Universe was an unknown entity for a few foreign journos- a pity.
