Practical to the core as he is, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Captain Gautam Gambhir today preferred to give credit to his bowlers for the team’s 7-wicket victory over the Pune warriors at Mumbai last night and told all concerned not to talk about the wicket.

“Pune Warriors were bundled out for 118 runs and the credit for this must go to my bowlers and not the devils of the wicket,” Gambhir said in an interview.

“When a team makes a small score of 120 or 130, people say the wicket is responsible for this but I don’t agree with this. I must say my bowlers made it possible,” he said talking high of his bowlers who bowled out the Warriors for 118 runs after Gambhir won the toss and preferred to take fielding in the IPL season-4 league match.

 

Defending his argument, Gambhir said that his bowlers are doing a great job even at the Eden Gardens also despite a hue and cry over the wicket.

“People say the wicket is problem at the Eden Gardens but we are able to chase the targets easily whereas the other teams are unable to score over us, so the credit must go to my bowlers,” he said scoring a valid point.
