Nation waits for the great moments of cricket…

cricet-nation-blessIndia, a nation 0f 121 Cr population, is eagerly waiting for the moment to see its team post a magnificent victory over Sri Lanka in the high-octane 2011 world cup grand finale taking place at the Wankhade stadium in Mumbai in a few hours from now.

In the same token, hundreds of millions of Indians are also anxiously awaiting the batting wizard Sachin Tendulkar to post his 100th century during the Indian innings.

Sachin has to his credit 51 tons in Tests and 48 tons in ODIs in his cricket career spanning over 21 years .

Cricket lovers all over India and Indians staying abroad are still cherishing the great moments of glory when the Kapil’s Devils beat West Indies in the 1983 World Cup finals in London.

Indians want to see the same unforgettable moments today on the faces of their fellow Indians. The World Cup almost came to the hands of India in 2003 but it slipped into the hands of Australians in the finals. For the third time since 1983, India barged its way into the world cup finals.

Meanwhile, the entire focus will be on both Tendulkar and the Lankan spinner Muttaiah Muralidharan in the high voltage clash for the simple reason that both of them may not be working in the next world cup.
