The Global NCAP has conducted a series of tests for different Indian car models based on their safety features and the result clearly depicted that many of Indian car models don't possess safety features. It is also true that a very few Indian car buyers purchase the cars keeping the safety features in mind.

This statement is clearly supported by the data which is revealed by Maruti, one of the eminent automobile manufacturers in India. The company offers airbags and anti-lock brakes in 11 models, either bundled as a part of the standard kit or as a paid option. The company also claimed that only 37% of its customers buy cars with safety tech. Maruti also depicted that its high selling models like Brezza, Baleno and the S-Cross possess airbags and ABS as standard and these models are also high demanding from customers' end.

On the other hand, Alto contributes 16 % of the company's sale but only 5% of this model possess driver airbag. But the scenario is a little bit of different for WagonR. For WagnonR, 15% of the car models opt for dual airbags. It is also true that altogether WagonR and Alto contribute 30% of the company's sale. So, we can conclude that low rate of safety adoption hardly matters the sales of the company.

But it's our prime duty to educate the customers about the safety tech and how this tech can save thousands of lives so that in future, buyers don't skip out on safety tech to save a few thousands.
