Indian legendary cricketer Mithali Raj announces Retirement:- Mithali Raj happens to be one of the legendary cricketers among women in the country. The 39-year-old star cricketer shocked the entire nation after she announced her retirement from international cricket after 23 long years. Mithali Raj was the most sought captain of Indian cricket and she is also the leading women international cricketer with 10,868 runs and many more records to her name. she played 333 international games for India. Mithali Raj is the recipient of Arjuna Award and Padma Shri award along with Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna. Mithali Raj made her debut into cricket in the year 1999 when she was 16 years. Mithali Raj is one of the greatest cricketers of the country.

"Thank you for all your love & support over the years! I look forward to my 2nd innings with your blessing and support," she tweeted. "I feel now is the perfect time to call curtains on my playing career as the team is in the capable hands of some very talented young players and the future of Indian Cricket is bright" posted Mithali Raj on her Twitter. This came as a shock for the cricket fraternity. Mithali Raj led India to two World Cup finals in 2005 and 2017. Mithali Raj scored 7805 runs in 232 matches with an average of 50.68 including seven centuries. Mithali Raj is also the highest run-scorer in T20s and she played 12 tests.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that a wonderful career came to an end. He thanked her contribution for Indian cricket. She scored 68 from 84 balls in her last international game against South Africa.
