Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli decided to shift his focus on batting and decided to step down from his position as captain for the T20s. In a shocking move, BCCI announced the squad for Team India for the ODIs and Rohit Sharma was named as the captain. Virat Kohli today made sensational comments on BCCI saying that he was informed about his removal as the Indian skipper for ODIs just one and a half before the selection meeting. Virat Kohli revealed this during his media interaction today. He also said that there was no communication from the BCCI over the ODI captaincy.

Virat Kohli said that the Chief Selector Chetan Sharma discussed about the test team and before completing the call, Chetan said that the five selectors decided to remove him from the ODI captaincy. Virat Kohli said that he replied with 'okay, fine'. He also said that there was no prior confirmation about the move from BCCI. He also said that BCCI responded well when he decided to leave the T20 captaincy. Virat Kohli was never asked to reconsider his decision for the same. Virat Kohli also confirmed that he informed the Board that he would continue as the captain in ODIs and Tests. He said that his communication with the Board was very clear. Virat Kohli also said that he was available for the ODIs with South Africa.
