India trashes Sri Lanka and reports a record victory:- Team India is touring in Sri Lanka for the three ODI series. In the first one-day international, Team India reported a record victory. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the match that took place in Premadasa Stadium. Sri Lanka reported a decent score of 262 for the loss of 9 wickets in their 50 overs. Chamika Karunaratne (43 not out), Dasun Shanaka (39) and Charith Asalanka (38) are the top scorers for the side. Deepak Chahar (2/37), Kuldeep Yadav (2/48) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2/52) took most of the wickets among the Indian bowlers.
India reported a comfortable victory in the match chasing 263. Indian batsmen completed the chase in just 36.4 overs with 80 balls left. Shikar Dhawan (86 not out) was the top scorer for the side and Ishan Kishan (59), Prithvi Shaw (43) contributed well. India lost three wickets in the chase. Dhananjaya de Silva (2/49), Lakshan Sandakan (1/53) took the wickets among the Sri Lankan bowlers. Prithvi Shaw is named as the Player of the Match from India. The second ODI between Sri Lanka and India will take place tomorrow afternoon in Premadasa Stadium and the final one-day on July 23rd.
