Official: IPL 2021 to resume in UAE

Official: IPL 2021 to resume in UAE:- The IPL season for the year came to a halt due to the huge spread of the second wave of coronavirus in the country. Several players are contracted with coronavirus even after staying in a bubble. Some of the foreign players too mounted pressure of returning home as the situations in India are alarming. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been discussing about resuming the tournament in United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the franchises would up in losses if the season ends abruptly. Today, BCCI announced that the remaining season of IPL 2021 will commence in United Arab Emirates in the months of September and October considering the monsoon season.

The decision was made after a Special General Meeting (SGM) that was held virtually today. All the members agreed for the proposal. There are talks that the call on ICC T20 World Cup will be taken soon next month. The exact dates of the IPL 2021 will be announced soon after the schedule will be finalized. The entire pending tournament including the final of IPL 2021 are expected to be completed in this month's cap. An official statement was issued by BCCI saying that the IPL 2021 will resume in UAE.
