IPL 2021 to resume in September?:- The second wave of coronavirus is all over and the spread is huge in the country. The IPL for the yea has been happening in a bubble but some of the players are recently tested positive for coronavirus. The BCCI decided to postpone the season considering the current spread and the new date for the season will be announced at a later date. While all the Indian players reached their homes, BCCI made all the arrangements for the foreign players to have a safe reach to their hometowns. BCCI officials made sure that the tournament will not resume anytime soon before normalcy returns. Several players decided to stay away from IPL for the season considering the spread.
As per the update, there are chances that IPL 2021 will resume in September this year but this would not be an easy bet. It is quite tough to bring the foreign players and resume the season on time. Some of the franchises want BCCI to announce the schedule in advance so that the foreign players will not miss the season. BCCI is also in plans to continue the season in UAE if the situation in the country continues to be worse. BCCI feels that a small window before the T20 World Cup is open and BCCI is considering IPL 2021 to be resumed in September for now. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said that they are considering the September season to resume IPL 2021.
