IPL 2021: Hyderabad Ignored Completely

IPL 2021: Hyderabad Ignored Completely:- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) finalized the venues for IPL 2021 that is expected to commence from April this year. After conducting IPL 2020 in Dubai, BCCI decided to bring back IPL 2021 to India after the number of cases for coronavirus came down considerably. As of now, six venues Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai are considered for the sport and IPL 2021 is expected to start from April 11th. Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, K.T. Rama Rao expressed his disappointment on not considering Hyderabad for IPL 2021. He also penned a tweet to BCCI requesting them to consider Hyderabad.

“Open appeal to @BCCI and @IPL office bearers to include Hyderabad as one of the venues for upcoming IPL season. Our effective COVID containment measures are reflected in our low number of cases among all metro cities in India & we assure you of all support from the Govt (sic).” posted KTR on his twitter page. Even the cricket lovers and fans are surprised with the decision made by BCCI ignorning Hyderabad. There are talks that Hyderabad was ignored because of the controversies and politics within Hyderabad Cricket Association. Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Vice President John Manoj said that HCA is just a facilitator and it is not organizing IPL. BCCI pays Rs 60 lakhs for every state association that hosts the matches. Hyderabad Cricket Association is expected to lose Rs 4.8 crores for the matches of IPL 2021. There is one more argument that Hyderabad was ignored as the city has no multiple venues.
