First Test: A Disastrous Performance by Indian Batsmen keeps them at a Spot:- The first test match of the Gavaskar-Border trophy completed on the third day in the second session after the Indian batting order tumbled down for 36 runs in the second innings. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India got a respectable total of 244 runs in their first innings and they restricted Australia to 191. India got a slight lead of 53 runs in their first innings. With three days left, it was sure that the result will be out for the first test.

In a shocking move, Team India tumbled down for 36 runs in their second innings. Australia had to score 90 runs to win the test match and they chased it by losing two wickets. Joe Burns (51 not out) and Matthew Wade (33) have been decent among the Australian batsmen. Before this, Mayank Agarwal (9) was the top scorer for the Indian side in their second innings. Josh Hazlewood picked up 5 wickets for just 8 runs and registered his best figures. Pat Cummins (4/21) has been decent with the ball. Australian batsman Tim Paine is named as the Player of the Match. The second test between India and Australia will take place between December 26th and 30th.
