IPL 2020: Delhi Vs Punjab Match Heads for a Super Over:- The IPL 2020 has finally started and the first match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) thrilled the cricket fans till the last ball. The second match took place between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab on Sunday. A brilliant all-round effort from Marcus Stoinis made Delhi Capitals win this spine-chilling match which led to a super over because of the tie. The match took place in Dubai International Stadium last night. Both Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab ended up scoring 157/8 in their respective 20 overs after which the match was decided through a super over. Kings XI Punjab managed to score two runs after they lost both the wickets in the super over.
It was an easy victory for the Delhi Capitals in the super over and they completed the chase in just two balls. Before this, Kings XI Punjab won the toss and the elected to bowl. Delhi Capitals struggled after the top order collapsed in no time. The run rate never crossed 6 runs per over till Marcus Stoinis came to bat. His exceptional 53 in just 21 balls made Delhi Capitals score a decent total of 157/8 in their 20 overs. Shreyas Iyer (39) and Rishabh Pant (31) have been decent with the bat. Mohammed Shami has been outstanding with the ball and he managed to get the best figures of 3/15 in his 4 overs. Sheldon Cottrell (2/24) has been decent.
Chasing a total of 158, Kings XI Punjab sounded decent in the chase. Mayank Agarwal (89) carried the team forward and KL Rahul (21) was good. Stoinis took two wickets in the last over which restricted Kings XI Punjab to 157/8 and the match had a super over. Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets in his first over and he had to leave the ground as he got injured. Kagiso Rabada (2/28) and Marcus Stoinis (2/29) have been decent with the ball. Delhi Capitals won in the super over and registered their first victory in IPL 2020. Marcus Stoinis has been named as the man of the match for his all-round performance in the match.
